Fourth of July show set at Center North Plaza

The Paddyfields, a country-and-western band, and Baltimore disc jockey Johnny Dark will present a Fourth of July show at the Arundel Center North Plaza at 6:30 p.m., weather permitting.

Admission to the outdoor event is free. No pets or alcoholic beverages are permitted, and audience members are asked to bring lawn chairs.

Man assaulted on Nolpark Court

A 22-year-old Glen Burnie man was mugged as he left a home on Nolpark Court early yesterday, county police said.

Charles Lee Johnson of the 400 block of Glen Mar Court was leaving a friend's apartment in the 7900 block of Nolpark Court about 2 a.m. when he was accosted by a man he knew only by his first name.

As they spoke, the man slammed Mr. Johnson's head into a brick wall, then tried unsuccessfully to take money from his pants pocket. He fled when Mr. Johnson began screaming.

Hospital thrift shop has new hours, location

The North Arundel Hospital Auxiliary Thrift Shop reopened yesterday with new hours and a new location.

The shop has moved into a detached trailer behind the hospital and directly across from the hospital's credit union. The thrift shop's expanded hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and it is open Monday through Friday.

POLICE LOG

* Glen Burnie: Someone stole money and jewelry, including a century-old gold locket worth at least $1,000, from an apartment at Greentree, off Crain Highway, Monday evening. Police said it appeared the thief used a key to get in.
