Baltimore City

RAPE/ARREST: Central District -- Police arrested one man and were seeking another in connection with the rape, sodomy and cutting of a woman early Tuesday morning in an area behind Marketplace and near the Jones Falls Expressway. The victim was raped and sodomized by both men and then cut at least once with a pair of scissors. She was taken to the University of Maryland Medical Center for treatment. A search of the area resulted in one suspect being arrested.

SHOOTING: Northwestern District -- A 23-year-old Pimlico man is listed in serious condition at Sinai Hospital after being shot in the back early Wednesday morning while walking in the 5400 block of Price Ave. The man told police he heard several gunshots and then felt a pain in his back. No arrest had been made and police had no motive for the shooting.

ROBBERY: Western District -- A man entered Emergence Liquors in the 1800 block of W. Fayette St. Tuesday and stole 40 scratch-off Lottery tickets.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A deliveryman for Domino's pizza in the 6300 block of Sherwood Road was returning to his car after delivering an order in the 900 block of Woodson Road Monday when a gunman forced him down onto the ground and robbed him of $30.

STOLEN CAR: Northern District -- A 1991 Jeep Cherokee with New Jersey license plates GZM47B was stolen from the 100 block of W. Cold Spring Lane Tuesday.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- An out-of-town man was changing a flat tire in the 3300 block of Greenmount Ave. Tuesday afternoon when he was assaulted by several youths who struck him about the body and head. After the attack, the youths stole the man's spare tire and jack.

THEFT: Southern District -- A video game valued at $200 was stolen from a 1979 Chevrolet Tuesday night while it was parked in the 300 block of W. West St.

THEFT: Southern District -- Property valued at nearly $600 was stolen from a 1984 Mazda that was parked in the 1200 block of Sharp St. sometime Tuesday night. Taken was clothing, cassette tapes and a guitar.

SHOOTING: Southwestern District -- A resident of the 4100 block of Edmondson Ave. is listed in serious condition at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center after being shot during an argument with two other men near his home Monday night. No arrests had been made.

ASSAULT: Southwestern District -- Two men who threw a flammable liquid on a man in the 1200 block of Franklintown Road and set him ablaze continue to be sought. The victim, a resident of the 3000 block of Belmont Ave., was attacked by the men Monday night. He was taken by ambulance to the regional burn unit at the Francis Scott Key Medical Center and is listed in guarded condition.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Someone entered a house in the 3300 block of Clifton Ave. through a door Tuesday and stole a VCR, stereo equipment, cash and cassette tapes, all valued at nearly $1,000.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Property of unknown value was stolen from a house in the 1100 block of N. Dukeland St. Tuesday by someone who entered after breaking a window.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- A telephone valued at $30 was stolen from a house in the 1900 block of Sponson St. Tuesday by someone who entered after breaking a rear window.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- A gunman robbed a resident of the 3800 block of Oak Ave. of jewelry valued at more than $600 in the first block of S. Pulaski St. Tuesday night.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Someone entered a house in the first block of N. Monastery Ave. Tuesday night through the front door and stole property.

Baltimore County

BANK ROBBERY: Essex District -- After robbing the Maryland National Bank at the Country Ridge Shopping Center in the 1500 block of Country Ridge Lane Tuesday, a man escaped without the money when a dye pack hidden among the bills exploded. The man entered the bank at 11:47 a.m. and gave a teller a note demanding money and not to put a dye pack in the bag he placed on the teller's counter. Outside the bank, the man was seen standing between an auto repair shop and a dry cleaners when the dye pack exploded. After dropping the bag and tainted money, the man was seen getting into a cab, which drove off.
