Suns fall, 1-0, in 12

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Pinch runner Dario Tena scored when Hagerstown catcher Angel Martinez dropped the ball, giving the Augusta Pirates a 1-0 victory over the Hagerstown Suns in a 12-inning Single-A South Atlantic League game.

With one out in the 12th, Danny Clyburn tripled to the left-field corner and Tena was inserted as a pinch runner. Trey Beamon hit a grounder to first, scoring Tena when Martinez mishandled the throw home.

Winner Marc Pisciotta (5-2) pitched 1 1/3 innings, giving up one hit and one walk and striking out one.

Reliever Ken Robinson (2-4) went 3 1/3 innings, giving up two hits and one run and striking out three.

Hagerstown (3-4) outhit Augusta (3-1) 11-9 and went 0-for-14 with runners in scoring position.
