College art professor's works to be exhibited internationally ELLICOTT CITY/ELKRIDGE

Dr. Ralph Baney of Ellicott City will be participating in two international exhibitions. A professor of art at Dundalk Community College, he recently had his piece "Oracle" in an all-sculpture show at the Cast Iron Gallery in New York.

This show will travel to Japan, where it will be on exhibit from Oct. 3 to Nov. 15 in Kyoto. During the summer, Dr. Baney and his wife Vera, also an artist and teacher at Dundalk Community College, will have a joint show at Gallery 101 in Port of Spain, Trinidad.

In this show, Dr. Baney will show sculptures in wood, bronze and alabaster. Mrs. Baney will show her unique hand-built pottery. The Baneys are originally from Trinidad and Tobago. Dr. Baney teaches sculpture and ceramics and Mrs. Baney teaches ceramics and ceramic jewelry at Dundalk Community College.

* Ellicott City: 3400 block of Plum Tree Drive: An unlocked girl's 10-speed mountain bike, valued at $100, was stolen from a back yard between 8 p.m. on Tuesday and 8 p.m. on Wednesday.

4600 block of Beechwood Road: A $20 mailbox was stolen from a residence between 10 p.m. on Wednesday and 8 a.m. on Thursday.

600 block of River Road: A RCA video cassette recorder was stolen from a living room after someone broke open a locked screen door between 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on

Wednesday.
