HAGERSTOWN -- The West Virginia Wheelers scored four runs in the fourth inning and went on to defeat the Hagerstown Suns, 5-1, in a Single-A South Atlantic League game last night at Municipal Stadium.

James Nix (6-2), who had a no-hitter going into the ninth inning, got the win for the Wheelers and had 10 strikeouts.

Keith Hines spoiled Nix's no-hit bid with a single to left, and Ricky Cradle's triple drove in Hines for the Suns' only run.

The Suns' Trevor Mallory (5-5) took the loss.
