Curtis Lee Frisby, 28, arrested by Westminster police June 4 )) on multiple drug and assault counts tied to an alleged attack on his pregnant girlfriend, was indicted on the charges yesterday by a Carroll County grand jury.

The indictment charges Mr. Frisby with breaking and entering, assault, battery, malicious destruction of property, resisting arrest, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and possession of cocaine.

He was being held last night at the Carroll County Detention Center on $110,000 bond.

Police and court records said Jodi Daroja, Mr. Frisby's girlfriend, reported that he broke into her East Main Street apartment after bTC she placed his clothing outside the door with a note telling him not to return.

Ms. Daroja told police that Mr. Frisby grabbed her around the neck and choked her until she was unconscious. She said she saw him smoking crack cocaine when she regained consciousness and she attempted to escape, but was grabbed from behind and a hand placed over her mouth to prevent her from calling for help.

About that time, police, who had been called by a neighbor, arrived at Ms. Daroja's apartment. As she opened the door, Mr. Frisby allegedly ran to the attic to hide.

Police said Mr. Frisby remained in the attic for about 15 minutes before he climbed down to the apartment, where he was arrested.

Investigators said they confiscated five small bags of crack cocaine found on a table in the bedroom.

Police said they saw bruises on Ms. Daroja's neck.

She is eight months pregnant with Mr. Frisby's child, police said.
