Jewish group plants trees

Members and supporters of the National Council of Jewish Women, Howard County section, gathered at Centennial Park recently to mark the national organization's 100th anniversary by planting 100 trees.

The planting was designed to enrich the environment and symbolize the council's dedication to social, educational and charitable activities.

Established in 1893, the 100,000-member National Council of Jewish Women is America's oldest, Jewish women's volunteer organization.
