BG&E given OK for expansion of Lothian substation
Baltimore Gas and Electric Co. has received zoning approval to expand an electric power substation in Lothian.
The county Office of Administrative Hearings granted the utility a special exception June 15 to add a modular transformer to its existing Sands Road substation. The new transformer is needed to supply electricity to growing areas in southern Anne Arundel and Prince George's counties, BG&E officials said.
