Armed man robs youth of $91 in Severn

A youth walking home from a basketball court in Severn Friday night was robbed of $91 by a masked man armed with a handgun, police said.

The youth, whom police refused to identify, was accosted while walking by a trash bin on Laketowne Court in the Lake Village community at about 9 p.m. Police said a passenger in a black sports car got out and forcibly took the money, ripping the boy's shirt.

The man, armed with a dark-colored handgun and wearing a ski mask, then told the youth to run away, jumped into the car and sped off. Police have no suspects in the case.
