Edgewater woman charged in beating with baseball bat

An Edgewater woman was charged with assault with intent to murder Saturday in the baseball bat beating of a woman she allegedly found with her husband in an Annapolis motel room.

County police said Cordie Reneue Dove, 30, of the 700 block of Londontown Road in Edgewater, went to the Thr-rift Inn in the 2500 block of Riva Road about 2 a.m. Saturday in search of her husband. She was accompanied by her brother.

Mrs. Dove found her husband, Kevin Dove, in a room he had rented for the night, along with Susan A. Thomas, 35, of the 1600 block of Knoxville Road in Edgewater, police said. She allegedly began beating Ms. Thomas on the head and body with the bat.

Mrs. Dove was arrested minutes later at the scene. Charged with assault with intent to murder and assault and battery, she was released from the county Detention Center after posting $5,000 bail.

Ms. Thomas was taken to Anne Arundel Medical Center, where she was treated for her injuries and released.
