Man gets away after robbing bank

The Carrollton Bank on Crain Highway in Glen Burnie was held up about 2 p.m. yesterday by a man who jumped into a red Ford truck and sped away toward Route 2, county police said.

Police responded to an alarm from the bank at 1:52 p.m. Witnesses reported seeing a suspect, with dye from an explosive dye pack on his clothing, jumping into the truck and speeding north on Crain Highway.

Police said bank employees reported the suspect did not display a weapon. They gave no other details about the robbery.

An undetermined amount of cash was stolen. No injuries were reported.

2 men rob woman at ATM

A woman withdrawing money from an automatic teller machine Wednesday night in Glen Burnie was robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash.

County police said two men -- one with a silver-colored handgun -- walked up to the 22-year-old as she was withdrawing money outside the First National Bank in the 7600 block of Ritchie Highway about 9:45 p.m.

One of the men demanded the money. The woman dropped an envelope containing cash, and it was scooped up by one of the bandits. After removing the cash from the envelope, the men ran away.
