Couple accused of heroin possession

County police answering a call Wednesday for a drug overdose at the Motel 6 on Hammonds Lane arrested a man and woman and charged them with heroin possession.

John Carl Duff, 39, of the 200 block of North Carolina Ave., in Pasadena, was taken to St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, where he was treated for a possible overdose and released that night. He was charged with possession of heroin.

His companion, Caroline Nonley, 28, of the 1800 block of W. Pratt St. in Baltimore, also was charged with possession of heroin.

The woman told police that the two were "partying and chilling out," in the hotel room, a police report says. She also told authorities that the man was injecting heroin and became unconscious.

Mr. Duff told police that he must have been drugged while sleeping.

Officers confiscated 10 hypodermic syringes they said they found on the dresser -- two of which contained a clear liquid and blood residue. They also said they found a tin can with white powder residue, believed to be heroin.
