Rocks thrown from overpass

Police are searching for a group of teen-agers they suspect of throwing rocks from an overpass onto two vehicles traveling I-95 yesterday.

A truck driver received minor facial injuries when a rock shattered her windshield, said Sgt. Bill Brooks, a spokesman for the state police Waterloo Barracks. She did not require hospitalization.

The trucker, whose name was not available, was injured about 4:32 p.m. yesterday as she headed south on I-95 near Route 32, Sergeant Brooks said.

The juveniles "were flipping good-size rocks and hit her windshield," shattering it, he said.

Two minutes later, a rock was thrown at a Mazda in the same vicinity, shattering its windshield, Sergeant Brooks said. The driver was not injured.

Police searched unsuccessfully for the suspects, Sergeant Brooks said.
