Wheelers top Suns with 4-run 8th, 5-3

CHARLESTON, W. Va. -- The West Virginia Wheelers rallied for four runs in the bottom of eighth inning to defeat the Hagerstown Suns, 5-3, in a Single-A South Atlantic League game last night.

The Suns (32-34) gained a 3-1 lead in the top of the eighth on a two-run double by Ricky Cradle, but with Lee Daniels pitching in relief of Suns starter Jose Silva, Mike Franklin, Jeff Manship and John Bess came through with RBI hits to boost the Wheelers (37-29).

Silva pitched six innings, allowing five hits and 10 strikeouts. He struck out seven consecutive batters between the fourth and sixth innings.
