Towson, Loyola sign basketball players

Florian Schneider, a 6-foot-6 forward, and DeRon Robinson, a 6-1 Notes

guard, have signed letters of intent to play for Towson State, and Loyola has signed 5-11 guard Milton Williams.

Schneider (13 points, 10 rebounds, six assists) played his senior year at North Allegheny High in Wexford, Pa.

Robinson (19.8 ppg) was a two-year starter for W.T. Woodson High in Fairfax, Va., where he shot 54 percent from the field (40 percent on three-pointers).

Williams averaged 16 points, 5.8 assists and 3.0 steals for Grimsley High in Greensboro, N.C.

* UMBC SOFTBALL: Signed Heather Daffin (Arundel), Karen Jacobson (Old Mill), Carrie Lycett (Spalding), Amy Patton (Severna Park) and Amy Wolff (Liberty).
