Storyteller, poet and weaver of fantasy Marc Spiegel will enchant and inspire children with his original stories, poems and songs at local libraries this summer.

His performance, one of the events in the library's Summer Reading Program, is free and open to preschoolers and first- through sixth-graders. Registration is not required for the hourlong show, but seating is limited. Spiegel, of Washington, will perform at the Odenton library, 1270 Odenton Road at 2 p.m. and 3 p.m., June 22.

The library's Summer Reading Program runs through July 23. Elementary school children can register at any point during the six-week program. For more information, call the Odenton branch, 222-6277, or library headquarters, 222-7371.

Robert O'Brien will teach an Anne Arundel Community College course on religions of North America at the O'Malley Senior Center in Odenton. This 10-week course will begin July 6 and continue every Tuesday from 10 a.m. to noon.

O'Brien will review the major religions of North America and their role in the quest of life's meaning and in the development of different cultures. Registration is being accepted at the center. For further information, call 222-6227 or 621-9515.

MacArthur Middle School musicians received high marks at the Anne Arundel County Solo and Ensemble Festival in April at Old Mill Middle School.
