Police hunt robber of Truckers Inn

Howard County police are searching for a man who stole an undisclosed amount of money from Truckers Inn in Jessup Friday afternoon.

No one was injured during the robbery, which occurred at about 12:30 p.m. at the inn in the 7400 block of Assateague Drive, police said.

After consuming a drink, a male patron announced a hold-up to the bartender, and walked behind the bar, police said.

The robber said he had a gun but did not show one, police said. He picked up a money bag next to the cash register before leaving the inn.

The robber is described as a slender black male, between 30 and 40, 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a slender build and a goatee, police said. He was wearing tinted glasses.
