Scouts take part in Flag Day events throughout Carroll Residents urged to show their colors

Tomorrow is Flag Day.

Carroll County residents are encouraged to fly their flags and participate in the National Pause for the Pledge of Allegiance at 7 p.m. at the Hampstead War Memorial.

The ceremony will be presided over by Boy Scout Troop 344. Participants will include officials of Hampstead, Boy Scout Troop 380, Cub Packs 790 and 791, and members of the Hampstead American Legion post.

New Windsor will have a National Flag Day ceremony at the Lions Club War Memorial on High Street at 7 p.m. In the event of rain, the ceremony will be inside the fire hall. Mayor Jack Gullo and Councilman James Carlisle will be present.

Sykesville residents are invited to join the American Legion, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and town officials for a ceremony just before the Town Council meeting at 6:30 p.m. at Town Hall.

Another perspective on Flag Day is being presented by 21st Century News at 8 p.m. Tuesday, 8:30 p.m. Friday and 11:30 a.m. Saturday on Carroll Community Television Channel 19.

The program will feature Dr. Bob Hieronimus and Zoh Hieronimus discussing the history of the American flag.
