Doctors open practice in Eldersburg

Doctors Shahida Siddiqi and Saba Siddiqi have announced the opening of a family and internal medicine practice in &L Eldersburg.

The women, who are related by marriage, plan to stress preventive medicine in a clinic atmosphere, said Dr. Shahida Siddiqi.

They also will operate a clinic for children over 5 years old and for women. In addition to weekday hours, the clinic will be open evenings and Saturdays.

The doctors invite area residents to an open house from noon to 6 p.m. Monday at 6212 Sykesville Road, near the intersection with Route 26.

Free blood pressure screenings, cholesterol checks and medical literature will be available.

POLICE

* Sykesville: A $69 mailbox was stolen from the 600 block of River Road between 10 p.m. June 3 and 7:15 a.m. June 4.

FIRE

* Gamber: Gamber responded for a fire alarm in a building on Hughes Road at 11:23 a.m. Wednesday. Units were out for 20 minutes.

* Sykesville: Firefighters from the Sykesville station responded for a fire alarm sounding in a building on Main Street at 11:52 a.m. Wednesday. Units were out for 15 minutes.

Sykesville responded for a fire alarm sounding in a building on Ridgewood Drive at 7:07 p.m. Wednesday. They were out for 24 minutes.
