ALLENTOWN, PA. — Parents guard routes after delivery girl's death

ALLENTOWN, Pa. -- Parents accompanied youngsters on their newspaper routes yesterday after the slaying of a 15-year-old girl who vanished as she delivered papers.

Charlotte Schmoyer's body, stabbed 22 times, was found buried Wednesday under leaves and sticks about eight hours after subscribers of the Allentown Morning Call reported her missing. Police said they had no suspects.

Police searching for the girl found her buried body after newspaper customers said she hadn't arrived with their papers on schedule early Wednesday.
