Dorsey's Search group offers summer programs

The Dorsey's Search Community Association is offering several programs during June and July.

* Protect A Tot safety seminar will meet from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at Linden Hall, 4765 Dorsey Hall Drive. The program will feature child-safety expert Sheri Gilliand, who will address safety concerns for parents of children under age 3. Advance registration is required. A $2 fee will be collected at the door.

* A free program on hiring in-home child care will meet from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Linden Hall. Topics will include criminal background checking, taxes and household help and how to find quality child care.

* A wine tasting seminar will meet from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday at Linden Hall.

* Hawaiian hula for teens and adults will be offered at the Dorsey's Search Meeting Room. Beginners and advanced beginners will meet from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursdays from June 17 through July 15. Advanced beginners and intermediate will meet from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursdays, from July 22 through Aug. 19. The fee is $27.

* Belly dancing for teens and adults will be offered at the Dorsey's Search Meeting Room. Beginners and intermediate will meet from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursdays from June 17 through July 15. Advanced beginners and intermediate will meet from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursdays, from July 22 through Aug. 19. Folkloric and Oriental belly dance will be taught. The fee is $27.

* Health Quest's Infant and Child CPR will meet from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 26. Lien is $29; non-lien is $30. First Aid For Children will meet from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 19. Lien is $37; non-lien is $38.

* Job For Life workshop will meet from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. June 26 at Linden Hall. The hands-on workshop allows participants to rate themselves on mental and personality dynamics and how they affect careers in the 2000s. The fee is $5.

* Hickory Ridge: 6500 block Freetown Road: Someone stole a VCR from a classroom at Atholton High School between 8 p.m. on May 20 and 7 a.m. on May 24.

10523 East Wind Way: Someone slashed the driver's side front and rear tires on a 1987 Chevy truck between 4 p.m. on June 4 and 10 a.m. on June 5.

* Wilde Lake: 10700 block of Little Patuxent Parkway: Someone stole a purse left in an unlocked 1987 Ford Escort at about 6 p.m. on June 8.

10300 Little Patuxent Parkway: Someone broke a vehicle's passenger side door at the Columbia Mall and stole a radio, compact disc player and clothing between 6 p.m. on June 1 and 8 a.m. on June 2.

5000 block of Cloudburst Hill: Someone entered a garage and took 50 boxes of sports cards between June 5 and 7.
