Suns top Wheelers for 4th in row, 6-1

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Jose Herrera and Angel Martinez each drove in two runs and Brad Cornett pitched a nine-hitter yesterday, leading the Hagerstown Suns to their fourth straight win, a 6-1 South Atlantic League victory over the West Virginia Wheelers.

Herrera went 2-for-5 and had a two-run single in the second inning, giving the Suns a 2-0 lead. In the fifth, Martinez had a two-run double.

Cornett went the distance, allowing only one walk and striking out four. The victory was the Suns' 11th in their past 14 games.
