Congratulations to Arundel High School's baseball team for winning the state championship and earning the No. 1 ranking among the country's high school baseball teams. Led by coach Bernie Walter, the team ended the year with an impressive 21-1 season.

The Anne Arundel County Department of Recreation and Parks will sponsor aerobics classes for adults and teens beginning the week of June 21 at Crofton Woods Elementary School. For class days and times, call (410) 222-3600 or (410) 741-1957.

The MultiSport Acro Team won 15 regional crowns at the Eastern Regional Championships on May 16 at Anne Arundel Community College. Fourteen athletes also have qualified for the national championships, scheduled for June 20-27 at the University of Maryland Baltimore County. Triple winner Tom Hamblin, 18, of Gambrills, won the intermediate tumbling crown. He then joined Brain Payne, Darren Taylor and Brain Zerrlaut to win the intermediate men's fours acrobatic event. He finished the meet with a victory in advanced mixed pairs with partner Courtney Davis, 12, of Bowie. Courtney also clinched the novice level II tumbling title. Beth Weiss, 15, of Crofton, also was a double winner by taking the gold in Level II tumbling and the novice women's trios with teammates Melissa McGuffin and Katie Eisenhart.

The Multi-Sport Sports School, on Route 3 in Crofton, is holding registration for summer camps, which include boy's and girl's gymnastics, trampoline, tumbling, cheerleading, karate, dance and a preschool gym camp. For additional information and a schedule of summer classes, call (410) 721-0414.

Crofton soccer has scheduled tryouts for its fall soccer teams. If you don't see your child's age group listed, call soccer commissioner Dave Haller, 261-0196. Children must register before trying out. To register, call Sue, 261-0196, for details.

A boy's county soccer team for ages 15 and younger has been formed. The team is open to children who were born between Aug. 1, 1978, and July 31, 1979. No tryouts are planned.

Tryouts for other boy's soccer teams are as follows:

* For boys born between Aug. 1, 1979 and July 31, 1980, tryouts are 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday and June 20 at Crofton Middle School.

* For boys born between Aug. 1, 1980, and July 31, 1981, tryouts are 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and June 19 at Crofton Middle School.

* For boys born between Aug. 1, 1981, and July 31, 1982, tryouts are 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday and June 19 at Cardinal field.

* For boys born between Aug. 1, 1983, and July 31, 1984, tryouts are 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and June 19 at Cardinal field.

* For boys born between Aug. 1, 1984, and July 31, 1985, tryouts are 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and June 19 at Cardinal field.

The girl's tryout schedule is as follows:

* For girls born between Aug. 1, 1983, and July 31, 1984, tryouts are noon to 1:30 p.m. Saturday and 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. June 15 at Cardinal field.
