New positions

* Alexander & Alexander Services Inc., an international consulting firm, has named Thomas R. Gardner vice president and director of global finance, analysis and administration of the firm's risk management and insurance services operation. He will be based in Owings Mills.

* American Office appointed the following to account executive: Francine Baumhaff, Dana Layne Simons and Christopher Culotta.

* BWJ Inc./Architects appointed Leland C. Allen vice president and project manager.

* COMSAT International Ventures, an international communications company, named Paul G. Pizzani vice president finance and business planning.

* Crown Central Petroleum Corp. named Carlton B. Dallas director of management systems.

* Damar Inc., a supplier of pollution-control devices, appointed Roy Anderson sales manager.

* Europro Imports Inc., importer and distributor of Faema Espresso machines, named Mark Asch as operations manager.

* Hayman Systems, of Laurel, announced the following additions to its sales staff: Thomas Lloyd as expert in business and industry dining services for Washington and Baltimore; Neal Schlosburg on hospitality and retail accounts in Montgomery County and Northwest Washington, and Anthony Seville as a specialist in hotel systems for the Washington-Baltimore area as well as other restaurants and clubs in Baltimore.

* Martin Marietta named Peter L. Kujawski vice president business development for its information group.

* Maryland New Directions appointed Janet Louden McGlynn new program director.

* McCormick & Company Inc. promoted Mary L. League to general accounting supervisor of the flavor division.

* McFerrin/McCrone Inc., an engineering, environmental consulting, land planning and surveying firm, named Rodney M. Honeycutt president.

* MICROS Systems Inc. named Daniel Interlandi vice president of Full Service Products.

* The Old Telephone Company Inc., a Baltimore-based full-service telecommunications business serving the mid-Atlantic region, named Joseph E. Hurley account executive.

* Papier Interiors Inc. and Design Group, a full-service interior design firm, has added Mary Lynne Mullican and John A. Anderson as in-house design and sales consultants.

* Joseph F. Shopulski has been appointed director of industrial technologies at Dundalk Community College.

* Hodes, Ulman, Pessin & Katz, P.A., with offices in Towson and Columbia, announced that William M. Gatesman has joined the firm as an associate.

* Smith, Somerville & Case law firm named Honora W. Sutor associate.
