Colleagues nominate nurse for honor

Michele Strohminger, of Pasadena, has been nominated to be the Maryland Hospital Association's Nurse of the Year by the nursing staff at North Arundel Hospital in Glen Burnie.

A medical surgical nurse, Ms. Strohminger was cited by the staff for her excellent care of patients and her involvement of family members in their recovery. She also was recognized for her education, clinical knowledge, professionalism and leadership of student nurses.

She and other nominees from around the state have been invited to lunch with Gov. William Donald Schaefer at the governor's mansion in Annapolis. North Arundel also recently held a reception for her, presenting her with a dozen roses and a certificate of appreciation.
