Vandals smash car windows in Ellicott City neighborhoods

For the second time this week, vandals have smashed windows of scores of vehicles in Ellicott City neighborhoods, Howard County police said.

Police said they have made no arrests, but believe the vandal or vandals who smashed windows to 25 vehicles Tuesday night also are responsible for smashing windows to 18 vehicles in neighborhoods across Ellicott City last weekend.

Tuesday night, someone smashed windows to 25 vehicles along Route 103, near the Wheatfield, Brampton Hills and Stonecrest developments, and Breconshire, McAlpine and Frederick roads, police said. The vandals may have used a pellet gun.

During the weekend, someone smashed vehicle windows along 16 streets, including the 2800 block of Country Lane and the 4500 block of Hemlock Cone Way, police said.
