You can't pass over junior Frey Player of the Year 1993 ALL-CARROLL COUNTY GIRLS LACROSSE TEAM

Kym Frey wasn't always in the headlines in girls lacrosse in Carroll County this season.

Her Liberty teammate, Chrissy Primavera, and South Carroll's Tracie DiDio were the heralded players.

But when the season was over and the last goal had rattled into the net, it was impossible to overlook the incredible year Frey had for the county champion Lions.

The junior attacker collected a staggering 41 assists in 14 games, including nine in a game against Wilde Lake, and still managed to score 37 goals.

With one year remaining, Frey already holds the Lions' career assist record with 68.

"She's a pure passer and has a cannon shot," said Liberty coach Courtney Vaughn. "And she could play wherever I needed her on attack. Kym could score against everybody and was never intimidated."

The time has come to honor a player who thinks pass first and shot second, and that's why Frey is The Baltimore Sun's 1993 Girls Lacrosse Player of the Year in Carroll County.

"She's very unselfish, a team player and eager to do well," said Vaughn, whose team was 13-1. "She turned the game around against South Carroll when we won, 16-10. She had a hand in our last six goals after we had been in a 9-9 tie early in the second half."
