Baysox take pair from Mets

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- Rafael Chaves struck out Jay Davis with the bases loaded and two out in the bottom of the seventh inning, giving the Bowie Baysox a doubleheader sweep of the Binghamton Mets, 4-3 and 9-6, in Double-A Eastern League play last night.

In the first game, Stanton Cameron had a two-run homer in the first inning and Jim Dedrick (3-1) pitched the final 3 2/3 innings to earn the win for the Baysox. Dedrick gave up a run and four hits and struck out six.

In the second game, the Baysox scored four in the first inning on five singles. Brent Miller had two RBI in the inning.
