Gunman robs restaurant

A man armed with a small handgun robbed a Wendy's restaurant in the 8100 block of Ritchie Highway Thursday night after ordering four employees to lie down on the floor.

County police said the man walked into the restaurant about 9:45 p.m. and ordered a worker to open the cash register.

The gunman took an undetermined amount of money, then ordered four workers to lie on the floor and demanded that the manager open the safe.

It was unclear from police whether the man took any money from the safe. No one was injured and police were seeking a suspect yesterday.
