Groups sought for July Fourth parade ANNAPOLIS/SOUTH COUNTY-Davidsonville-Edgewater-Shady Side-Deale

The Office of Public Information and Tourism of the city of Annapolis is looking for organizations to participate in the Independence Day Parade.

The parade will begin at 6:30 p.m. July 4 at St. John's Street and will proceed to College Avenue, Main Street, Randall Street and around the perimeter of the Naval Academy, where it will end at Farragut Field.

Edgewater woman pulled from car and robbed

An Edgewater woman was assaulted and robbed early Saturday while she was sitting in her car, waiting for a traffic light to change at Aris Allen Boulevard and Solomons Island Road, county police said yesterday.

Police said Cynthia Lynn Mitchell, of the 1400 block of Rehling St., was at the end of the exit ramp from westbound Aris Allen Boulevard when two men pulled her from her car and beat and robbed her. They fled north on Solomons Island Road in a white, two-door compact car, police said.

Ms. Mitchell, 35, was taken to the Anne Arundel Medical Center, where she was treated for bruises and scratches and released.

All-male 'wedding' written in 1936 to be performed

The Davidsonville Ruritan Club will present the one-act play, "The Womenless Wedding," at 8 p.m. Friday at the clubhouse on Davidsonville Road.

Written in 1936, the comedy consists of an all-male cast. Admission is a minimum of $5 worth of nonperishable food or a $5 donation. Proceeds will benefit the Anne Arundel County Food Bank.
