Savage Festival planned NORTH LAUREL/SAVAGE

"Community Conservation & Recycling" will be the theme of the fourth annual Savage Festival, which runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Baldwin Commons, Baltimore at Foundry streets in Savage.

The festivities will begin Saturday with a parade sponsored by the Savage Volunteer Fire Department.

The grand marshal is Terry Young, who can be seen daily around Savage collecting aluminum for recycling.

The United Methodist Church of Savage will hold its annual strawberry festival from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday across from Baldwin Commons. The menu will include strawberry shortcake, homemade ice cream and strawberries, and pit beef.

The festival will include more than 100 crafts people, artist and exhibits. There will also be a full-size musical carousel sponsored by the Sanford Companies, a "moon bounce" courtesy of the Savage Boys & Girls Club, and carnival games run by Bollman Bridge Elementary School.

Kenny Curtist from the Fox 45 Clubhouse will appear at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

Sunday's highlight will be the Third Annual Antique & Hot Rod Auto Show, sponsored by Owens-Corning Fiberglas Corp., from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

* Jessup: 8800 block of Mission Road: Someone tampered with a doorknob between 6 a.m. and 6:15 p.m. Tuesday. No entry was made.

* North Laurel: 9000 block of Stebbing Way: A black 1988 Chevrolet Z-24 was stolen between 7:19 p.m. Wednesday. The Pennsylvania license plates are LMV-241.

9700 block of Promise Court: Someone kicked in a rear basement door between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Wednesday. A wallet and an undisclosed amount of cash were stolen.

8300 block of Sperry Court: A blue 1989 Acura Integra was stolen Thursday. The Maryland license plates are WXV-986.
