* ARMED ROBBERY: Eastern District -- A 25-year-old man was arrested yesterday for the robbery of the Murray's Steak House in the Old Town Mall. Police said a man entered the store at 12:25 p.m. yesterday, ordered an employee off the phone and demanded money. He was given $160 in currency and food stamps and fled from the store. A suspect was arrested within minutes by city police.

* ASSAULT AND ROBBERY: Eastern District -- A 25-year-old woman reported that a man snatched jewelry from her neck at 10 p.m. Saturday as she walked in the 1600 block of E. Lafayette St. She was not injured.

* ASSAULT AND ROBBERY: Eastern District -- A 42-year-old man was robbed of his truck keys and an undisclosed amount of money at gunpoint at 9 a.m. yesterday as he walked in the 1000 block of Rutland Ave.

* BURGLARY: Eastern District -- Thieves broke into a house in the 1400 block of Patterson Park Ave. between 12:30 a.m. and 6 a.m. yesterday and stole a VCR valued at $100.

* THEFT: Northeastern District -- A table valued at $50 was taken from the front yard of a house in the 3400 block of Woodstock Ave. between 11 p.m. Sunday and 7:30 a.m. yesterday.

* ASSAULT AND ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- A man was robbed at knifepoint shortly after midnight yesterday as he walked in the 3600 block of Hayward Ave. The victim was not injured and the assailant fled on foot.

* BREAKING AND ENTERING: Northwestern District -- A home in the 2900 block of Ridgewood Ave. was burglarized between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. yesterday by someone who apparently entered through a rear basement window. About $150 worth of property was taken.

* ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- A driver for the Associated Cab Co. was robbed of $35 by four men, one armed with a handgun, about 12:15 a.m. yesterday in the 3300 block of Alto Road.

* BREAKING AND ENTERING: Northwestern District -- Thieves forced open the rear window of a house in the 4500 block of Westchester Road late Sunday or early yesterday and stole a number of undisclosed items.

* ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- A man walking in the 4400 block of Park Heights Ave. at 5:57 a.m. yesterday was robbed of his wallet by an unarmed man.

* BREAKING AND ENTERING: Western District -- Thieves broke into John's Bar in the 1500 block of Riggs Ave. and stole $507 in cash. Police said the thieves entered a vacant house next door to the bar, made a hole in a connecting wall and entered the bar.

* BREAKING AND ENTERING: Western District -- Police say a 45-year-old man who successfully broke into a West Baltimore liquor store and stole 25 cases of beer and wine early yesterday was arrested when he returned to the store two hours later and tried to steal 11 more cases of alcohol. The suspect was arrested about 6:45 a.m. after police responded to a security alarm at Doc's Liquors, in the 2100 block of W. Lexington St., was triggered during the attempted burglary. When questioned, the suspect allegedly admitted to breaking into the liquor store earlier in the day as well.

* LARCENY: Western District -- A purse containing $85 was snatched from an elderly woman as she walked in the 1600 block of W. North Ave. at 1:15 a.m. yesterday.

* ARMED ROBBERY: Western District -- A man was robbed of $25 and beaten with a stick by three men as he walked in the 1700 block of Laurens St. about 5 p.m. yesterday. The suspects fled on foot.


* BURGLARY: Essex Precinct -- Six homes on three nearby streets in old Essex were broken into early yesterday by a thief or thieves who climbed through open or unlocked windows and made off with wallets and purses without waking sleeping occupants. The houses are in the 100 blocks of Hampshire, Berkshire and Wiltshire roads. The stolen wallets and purses were found in a alley behind the homes.

* ARMED ROBBERY: Towson Precinct -- A man robbed the Days Inn in the 8800 block of Loch Raven Blvd. at 7:25 p.m. Sunday when he approached the desk and demanded money. He got an undetermined amount and fled on foot, police said. The robber was described as 35 to 40 years old, 5 feet, 8 inches tall, of medium build and wearing a white cap, sunglasses and a blue T-shirt.

* THEFT: Wilkens Precinct -- A guest at the Econo-Lodge motel in the 5800 block of North Rolling Road said she woke at 7:45 a.m. yesterday to find her purse, containing $800 in cash and credit cards, was missing.

* THEFT: Garrison Precinct -- About $42,000 worth of jewelry was stolen from the Zales Jewelry store in the Owings Mills Mall Sunday. Police said store employees noticed three suspects about 5:10 p.m. and then noticed they were gone, leaving an empty jewelry case behind.

* BREAKING AND ENTERING: White Marsh Precinct -- About $20,000 worth of jewelry and a 1983 Chevy Camaro was stolen from a house in the 4000 block of Kenwood Ave. between 7:30 and 9 p.m. Sunday.

* BURGLARY: White Marsh Precinct -- A house in the 9000 block of Horn Ave. was broken into Friday or yesterday. Silverware, jewelry and computer equipment were taken.
