Here's what to look for if you are traveling in the Baltimore metropolitan area this week. This list of highway projects includes only newly announced work, not continuing construction, which is extensive on several highways, including Interstate 95, U.S. 50/301 and the Baltimore-Washington Parkway.
New highway projects
I-95 southbound between Route 175 and Route 32 -- Expect two lanes to be closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday. The lane closures are necessary for concrete patching.
Westbound Pulaski Highway (U.S. 40) between Abingdon Road and Route 755 in Harford County -- Expect a continuous, round-the-clock left-lane closure beginning at 9 a.m. Tuesday. This closure will continue for several months. It is needed for bridge repair.
North and southbound I-97 between Route 648 and Interstate 695 -- Expect single- and double-lane closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday for paving and the placement of temporary concrete barriers.
MTA route changes:
The MTA has scheduled the following route changes for this week. Information: 539-5000; TTY for the hearing-impaired, 539-3497.
Buses will operate on a Sunday schedule tomorrow. There will be no Metro or MARC service. Light-rail from Timonium to Linthicum will operate every 15 minutes from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Effective from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, a street fair in the 1600 block of N. Gilmor St. will necessitate the following changes:
Eastbound via regular route west on Westwood Avenue to Calhoun Street, then west on Westwood Avenue, south on Mount Street, east on Laurens Street, south on Gilmor Street, then via regular route. Westbound via regular route north on Gilmor Street to Laurens Street, west on Laurens, north on Mount Street, east on Westwood Avenue, south on Calhoun Street, then east on Cumberland Street.
Effective from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, the 2000 block of Ramsay St. between Wilhelm and Ashton streets will be closed because of a bazaar, necessitating the following changes:
Southbound via regular route south on Pulaski Street to McHenry Street, east on McHenry Street, south on Monroe Street, then via regular route. No change northbound.
