Tigers' three-run homer in ninth tops Baysox, 7-6 Givens' shot tags Taylor with loss

LONDON, Ontario -- Pinch hitter Jim Givens hit a three-run home run in the ninth inning off Tom Taylor to lift the London Tigers over the Bowie Baysox 7-6, in a Double-A Eastern League game last night.

Trailing 6-3 in the ninth, London's Joe Perona singled. After Brian Cornelius (0-for-1) struck out. Mike Rendina singled to right, advancing Perona to third. A single by Shannon Penn cut Bowie's lead to two and set up Givens' game-winner.

Bowie (24-17), scored single runs in the second, third, fourth and sixth innings before a two-run eighth.

London (17-27) put together single runs in the first, second and fifth innings before the four-run ninth.
