Cecil teacher is suspended

May 26, 1993

A Rising Sun high school teacher was suspended without pay and was recommended for termination yesterday for allegedly having "inappropriate communications" with a female student, school officials said yesterday.

Neither the teacher nor the student was identified.

The teacher has 10 days to appeal to the school board. If there is no appeal, the school board will decide whether to fire or reinstate the teacher at its meeting June 14.
