Free workshop offered for homebuyers June 5

Lee Hatfield of Home Port Properties and Clarence Snuggs of Maryland National Bank will lead a free workshop for homebuyers from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. June 5 at the Severna Park library.

Participants will use role-playing and discussion to gain knowledge of topics including planning and budgeting for a home and what to expect from a real estate agent.

Maxwell Ochs of the Community Action Agency Housing Program is the workshop host.

Joann Davis elected chapter president

Joann Davis of Severna Park has been elected president of the Northeast Chapter of the Alliance of Baptists, a group of individuals and churches dedicated to the preservation of historic Baptist principles, freedoms and traditions.

Ms. Davis is a member of Broadneck Baptist Church in Cape St. Claire.


* Arnold: Burglars broke into a home in the 1600 block of Ritchie Highway between May 7 and Friday and took two television sets and other property. The value of the property was not known.

* Millersville: A resident of the 1800 block of William Road reported to police that someone stole the out-drive motor from his boat while it was parked in front of his home between May 17 and 19. The value of the motor was not known.
