Her accomplishments: She's a member of the All-State Orchestra, where she plays the violin. She won the Outstanding Soloist Award at her school and has been a member of the All County Orchestra for four years.

She serves as the National Honor Society's vice president, as well as on the school's peer mediation team. She's a member of the Asian Focus Club and on the Math Team. She works as a production manager on the school newspaper, "The Wingspan," and is chemistry president of the Science Club.

During her sophomore year, Alison served as treasurer for her class government board. Alison won a $3,000 Westinghouse Family Scholarship as well as a Maryland Regents Scholarship Award. She is a Maryland Distinguished Scholarship, as well as a National Merit Finalist.

Outside of school, she volunteers at Bea Gaddy's soup kitchen to serve food to the homeless every Thanksgiving.

Her comments: We have a very musical family. I had a lot of encouragement from my parents to study music.

ZTC Her goals: She plans to attend the University of Pennsylvania to study at the Wharton School of Business, with an eye toward law school or graduate business school.
