New positions

*Arcata Graphics, a national book manufacturer, announced the following appointments: John Boylan, president and chief operating officer; Roger Marshall, vice president, marketing and sales support; and Jane Downs, vice president, human resources.

*The Best Western Baltimore East appointed Christina Goddard director of sales.

*Capital Plaza Mall, located in Landover Hills, appointed Paula B. McDermott general manager.

*PHH Corp. named H. Robert Nagel senior vice president.

*Susan Souder, a partner in the litigation department of the Gordon, Feinblatt, Rothman, Hoffberger & Hollander law firm, has been elected president of the Women's Bar Association of Maryland.

*Cornerstone, a Baltimore-based advertising, public relations and design agency, appointed Donald K. Hughes Jr. senior account executive.

*Godfrey Advertising, a Lancaster, Pa.-based advertising firm, named Catharine Oakes an art director and James Everhart a creative director.

*The American Red Cross, Greater Chesapeake and Potomac Region Blood Services, has named Katherine Kellogg vice president of donor recruitment and marketing. Also, Sandra Herman was named vice president of organizational development and training.

*North Arundel Hospital named Dr. William J. Engelmeyer director of its information systems department and Jennifer Keats Curtis public relations specialist.

*The Bank of Baltimore named the following senior vice presidents: Stewart P. McEntee, Frances M. Teller and Robert P. Warr.

On the board

*The Harford Community College Foundation Inc., appointed Tony Meoli of the Edgewood Corporation and David Ritchie of

First Virginia Bank to its board of directors.
