Here's what to look for if you are traveling in the Baltimore metropolitan area this week. This list of highway projects includes only newly announced work, not continuing construction, which is extensive on several highways, including Interstate 95, U.S. 50/301 and the Baltimore-Washington Parkway.

New highway projects

Reisterstown Road from Northern Parkway to the city line -- Continuing through January 1994, expect roadway improvements including curbing, sidewalk, pavement repairs, a new blacktop surface and other work. Traffic flow will be maintained.

I-195 inbound and outbound from Route 170 to Baltimore-Washington International Airport Terminal -- Expect lane closures from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday through August. Also expect closures on the lower level roadway between the parking garage and the passenger terminal. Construction for drainage improvements on I-195 will occur during daylight hours. Access to all parking areas and the garage, as well as all other facilities, will remain available.

I-95 southbound -- Two right lanes between the Prince George's/Howard County line and Van Dusen Road will be closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. tomorrow through Thursday for resurfacing. Two left lanes from Route 216 to Van Dusen Road will be closed until 5 a.m. tomorrow morning for concrete patching. One left lane in the area of Route 32 also will be closed.

I-695 interchanges at Security Boulevard (Route 122) -- Expect various ramp closures today through Thursday from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for milling and paving operations.

Outer loop I-695 between Liberty Road and I-70 Bridge -- Expect up to three lanes to be closed through 10 a.m. today. The roadway will reopen with a new traffic pattern that will remain in effect through September for the installation of a new bridge deck at Security Boulevard. Lanes will divide at Security Boulevard with two through lanes to the left and one through lane and the exit ramp to I-70 to the right.

Outer loop I-695 between Cove Road and Eastern Boulevard -- Expect various single-lane closures from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. tomorrow through Thursday for paving and bridge repairs.

Southbound I-97 at Route 178 -- I-97 will be closed to all traffic at Exit 5, Route 178, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Wednesday and Thursday for the setting of steel beams at the interchange of I-97 and U.S. 50. Detours will be posted.

North- and southbound I-97 between Route 648 and I-695 -- Expect single- and double-lane closures from 8 pm. to 6 a.m. tomorrow through Thursday for paving and the placement of temporary concrete barriers.

Seminary Avenue (Route 311) -- Expect single, block-long closures between Bellona Avenue and Front Avenue between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. tomorrow through Thursday. Tomorrow, Bellona Avenue between Seminary and Lincoln Avenues will be closed for two weeks for installation of new drainage pipes. Residents will be permitted access to the area.

North- and southbound Fort Smallwood Road (Route 173) -- Expect single-lane closures between the City Line and the Stoney Creek Bridge between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for patching and resurfacing.

MTA bus route changes:

The MTA has scheduled the following changes for this week. Information: 539-5000; TTY for the hearing-impaired, 539-3497.

Constellation 10K Foot Race Diversions

Effective today from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. the routes of the No. 7, 8, 10, 19, 62 and 64 lines will be changed as follows:

No. 7 - 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. -- Southbound buses will travel regular route to Pratt and Howard Streets, north on Howard Street, east on Baltimore Street, north on Holliday Street, east on Fayette Street, south on Jones Falls Boulevard, east on Pratt Street, then via regular route.

No. 8 and 62 - 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. -- Southbound buses will travel regular route to Light and Lee Streets, west on Lee Street, north on Charles Street and lay over on Charles Street between Lee and Conway Streets. Northbound service will originate from Charles Street between Lee and Conway Streets, north on Charles, east on Baltimore Street to Calvert Street, then via regular route.

No. 10 - 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. -- Southbound buses will travel regular route to Eutaw and Baltimore Streets, east on Baltimore, north on Holliday Street, east on Fayette Street, south on Jones Falls Boulevard, east on Pratt Street, then via regular route. Northbound buses will not be affected.

No. 19 - 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. -- Northbound buses will travel regular route to Eutaw and Baltimore Streets, east on Baltimore, north on Holliday Street, east on Fayette Street, north on Gay Street, then via regular route. Southbound buses will not be affected.

No. 64 - 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. -- Northbound buses will travel regular route to Light and Henrietta Streets, west on Henrietta, north on Charles Street, east on Baltimore Street to Calvert Street, then via regular route. Southbound buses will not be affected.

Other MTA bus route changes:

No. 15 (Overlea service) -- Continuing until further notice due to construction work at the Overlea Loop, the following rerouting will be in effect:

Northbound, via the regular route to Belair Road to Northern Parkway, then west on Northern Parkway and south on Walther Boulevard.

Southbound, south on Walther Boulevard, east on Fleetwood Avenue, south on Belair Road, then via regular route.

Nos. 7, 10 and 19 -- Effective today and continuing until further notice the Nos. 7, 10 and 19 bus lines will return to Lombard Street. These lines have been diverted to Baltimore Street since November 1992 because of construction.
