CHILD INJURED: Northeastern District -- A 3-year-old boy received minor gunpowder burns of the face Tuesday night when a handgun he found on top of a cedar chest in a room at his home in the 6100 block of Moyer Ave. discharged while he played with it. The child was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital. Police said the gun belonged to the child's father and that charges were pending an investigation.

BURGLARY: Eastern District -- Someone entered a house in the 2200 block of Aiken St. Tuesday from a fire escape and stole clothing and movie tapes.

PURSE SNATCH: Eastern District -- A 37-year-old Johns Hopkins Hospital employee was walking toward her car in the 800 block of N. Bond St. about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday when a man stole her purse containing cash and property, all valued at $50.

ROBBERY: Eastern District -- On Monday, a gunman in the 1400 block of E. North Ave. robbed a 25-year-old Baltimore County resident of $30 worth of cash and property.

ROBBERY: Eastern District -- A gunman in his 20s robbed an 88-year-old resident of the 1400 block of E. Madison St. of nearly $80 in the 600 block of N. Duncan St. Tuesday.

ROBBERY: Eastern District -- A woman walking in the 1600 block of Ashland Ave. about 5 p.m. Monday was robbed of her purse containing cash and property worth over $100. A gunman pointed a weapon at the woman's head and threatened to shoot, but the victim, who lives in Baltimore County, was not injured.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- A man with a sawed-off shotgun was in the 5200 block of Park Heights Ave. late Monday night when he robbed a resident of the 7000 block of Rudisill Court in Baltimore County of an undisclosed sum.

RAPE: Northwestern District -- Police were seeking a man who raped a woman in a car in the 3800 block of Greenspring Ave. Monday afternoon, robbed her of an undisclosed sum and forced her from the car.

BURGLARY: Northwestern District -- Someone entered a house in the 3400 block of Duvall Ave. Monday and stole property valued at $300.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- A gunman robbed a resident of the 3400 block of Menlo Drive of an undisclosed sum in the 3500 block of Hayward Ave. early Tuesday.

ROBBERY/SHOOTING: Northwestern District -- A gunman robbed a resident of the 4800 block of Park Heights Ave. of his property in the 4500 block of Park Heights Ave. early Tuesday morning and then shot the victim in the back. The victim was taken to Sinai Hospital.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- Two men, one with a handgun, were in the 4900 block of Pembridge Ave. about 1 a.m. Tuesday when they robbed a resident of the 2400 block of Cylburn Ave. of cash and property, all valued at nearly $900.

PURSE SNATCH: Northern District -- A resident of the 300 block of Woodbourne Ave. was getting out of a car near her home Monday night when two men pushed her down and robbed her of an undisclosed sum.

STOLEN CAR: Northern District -- A 1988 Buick with Maryland license plates ZED263 was stolen from the 2500 block of Edgecombe Circle North Sunday night or Monday.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone entered the lounge of a building at Johns Hopkins University in the 3400 block of N. Charles St. between May 14 and Tuesday and stole a TV valued at more than $200.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Stereo equipment and a VCR, all valued at nearly $400, were stolen from an apartment in the 2800 block of N. Calvert St. Tuesday.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A resident of the 300 block of Homeland Southway was robbed of his wallet and $25 by two men Tuesday.

THEFT: Northern District -- Someone entered the bedroom of a house in the 600 block of E. 41st St. Monday and stole jewelry valued at more than $3,500.

Baltimore County

ROBBERY: White Marsh District -- A blond-haired woman who implied she had a handgun robbed the Wawa convenience store in the 6000 block of Rossville Boulevard of $69 about 8 p.m. Tuesday.

ROBBERY: Woodlawn District -- A gunman robbed the Best Western Welcome Inn in the 1600 block of Whitehead Road about 6 p.m. Tuesday. After the man asked if the motel was hiring, he excused himself and went into a restroom. Upon exiting the restroom, the man pulled out a handgun and ordered the desk clerk to give him the contents of the cash register. The man escaped with an undisclosed sum.
