An inconsiderate fisherman hooked more than fish at the lake at Crofton Meadows Saturday.

As a result, your correspondent has a tender foot and was forced to endure a tetanus shot yesterday.

If you are going to take advantage of our stocked lake, please remember to clean up after yourself. Fishhooks have a way of finding barefoot picnickers, and old discarded fishing line is a meance to ducks and geese that live along the shores.

The weather was great and so was the second annual Armed Forces Day Parade.

A large crowd came out Saturday to hear the bands, especially the award-winning Arundel High School Marching Band, and to see the parade participants.

The Fort Meade Color Guard added a splash of red, white and blue and the Crofton Athletic Council cheerleaders added the spirit.

A tip of the hat to Sue Bents, who pulls out all stops as coordinator of this and other community events.
