Clergy encourages community to turn in firearms to police NORTH LAUREL/SAVAGE

May 14, 1993

In an attempt to rid their community of all types of firearms, the Laurel Clergy Association is sponsoring "Gun Turn-In Day" from noon to 5 p.m. tomorrow.

Guns may be turned in to Laurel police with no questions asked at First United Methodist Church, 424 Main St., or at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, Eighth at West streets.

Individuals turning in handguns are asked to place them unloaded in tape-sealed boxes and bring them to either location in the trunks of their cars.

Ammunition must be brought in separate sealed boxes.

The bolts should be open on any rifles or shotguns that are being turned in.
