Phone In Statistics

The Baltimore Sun compiles statistics for baseball, softball, boys and girls lacrosse and track and field each Sunday during the spring season. Coaches or statisticians should call between 3 and 6 p.m. at [phone] or [phone] ext. 6200 to report stats.

For baseball and softball, we compile statistics on each team's leaders in batting average (at-bats/hits/average), home runs, triples, doubles, steals, RBI, pitching -- strikeouts (number of strikeouts/innings) and won-lost records.

For boys and girls lacrosse, we compile statistics on each team's leaders for goals and assists and goalie save percentage (saves divided by shots on goals).

Statistics should be cumulative each week.

Top performances in track and field should be phoned in after meets, or on Sundays between 3 and 6 p.m.

Coaches should also phone in boys and girls Player of the Week nominations Sundays between 3 and 6 p.m. Any player nominated must be available the following Monday morning or afternoon to have his or her picture taken.

AAll varsity spring athletes are eligible for Player of the Week.
