ASHBURN, Va. -- The Posse has been reduced to the Lone Ranger at the Washington Redskins minicamp this weekend.

Since Gary Clark left for the Phoenix Cardinals as a free agent and Art Monk is skipping the camp because he's unhappy with his contract,Ricky Sanders is the only original member of the Posse in camp this week.

Sanders, who is the team's No. 1 receiver after spending seven )) years as the third receiver on passing downs, has mixed feelings about the situation.

"On one side, you hate to see them go," he said. "On the other, you're happy to be in there and prove what you can do."

At the minicamp, Sanders has been working in all the packages. The Redskins plan to make him the feature receiver this year. Sanders and Desmond Howard will start with free agent Tim McGee the third receiver.

Sanders added: "It's about time. I sat in the back and clapped for them [Monk and Clark] for the longest time. I feel it's time for me to go out and let my light shine."

The Redskins will wrap up the minicamp today. They have 85 players in camp with Monk and Wilber Marshall the only two missing players. They can have 80 players in pads when they open training camp July 18 in Carlisle, Pa.
