ROBBERY TRY: Western District -- Two men, one with an Uzi-like weapon, attempted to rob a resident of the 2100 block of W. Fairmount Ave. in the first block of N. Pulaski St. Tuesday night but walked away when they found nothing of value.

ASSAULT: Western District -- A resident of the 1500 block of Eutaw Place was listed in serious condition at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center after she was attacked by two men on a school playground in the 1100 block of Laurens St. Wednesday morning. The men, who struck her several times with a bottle, escaped.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Someone entered a city-owned house in the 600 block of N. Monroe St. Wednesday and stole nearly $200 worth of copper piping.

PURSE SNATCH: Southern District -- A resident of the 1500 block of Light St. was in the first block of E. Cross St. Wednesday when three men stole her purse. A witness chased the men and recovered the purse when it was dropped. The assailants escaped.

ASSAULT/ARREST: Southern District -- A resident of the 2500 block of Sidney Ave. was treated at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center after being struck with a metal pipe near his home Wednesday. A teen-ager was arrested and released to his parents.

ROBBERY: Southern District -- A gunman robbed a resident of the 2100 block of W. Fayette St. of cash and property, all valued at nearly $500, Tuesday night in the 1600 block of Hollins St.

THEFT: Northern District -- Someone entered a house in the 2500 block of Edgecombe Circle North Tuesday and stole living room furniture valued at $1,000.

THEFT: Northern District -- Property valued at nearly $1,700 was stolen from a 1991 Isuzu parked in the 700 block of Highwood Drive Wednesday.

ARSON: Northern District -- Someone threw a flamable device through the front window of Stop, Shop & Save in the 2800 block of Greenmount Ave. Wednesday, setting a fire that caused minor damage.

THEFT: Northern District -- A mountain bike valued at nearly $150 was stolen from the back yard of a house in the 4200 block of Elsa Terrace Wednesday.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Someone entered a house in the 3600 block of Mary Ave. Wednesday morning and stole property valued at more than $1,000.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- At least $100 in coins were stolen from Comic Book Kingdom in the 4300 block of Harford Road Wednesday .

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Someone entered Athens Formal Wear in the 3100 block of Erdman Ave. Tuesday and stole $300.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Engine parts valued at nearly $1,200 were stolen from a car in the 6200 block of Brook Ave. Tuesday or Wednesday .

ASSAULT: Northwestern District -- A resident of the 2800 block of Garrison Boulevard was arguing with another man near his home Wednesday morning when he was cut with a razor. The victim was not seriously injured. The assailant escaped.

BURGLARY/ARREST: Northwestern District -- Police responding to a burglar alarm from the McDonald's fast-food outlet in the 5300 block of Park Heights Ave. Wednesday morning arrested a man who had entered by breaking a window. Nothing appeared missing.

BURGLARY/ARRESTS: Northwestern District -- Police arrested two men shortly after they entered Rice's barber shop in the 5400 block of Park Heights Ave. Monday morning by breaking a window. A passer-by called the police.

THEFT/ARREST: Northwestern District -- A man who attempted to leave the Food King market in the 5600 block of Reisterstown Road Wednesday without paying for items valued at nearly $38 was arrested.

STOLEN CAR: Northwestern District -- Someone stole a 1986 Oldsmobile with Maryland plates PVW450 from the 3400 block of Royce Ave. Wednesday.

Baltimore County

ROBBERY:Towson District -- Two men, one with a handgun, robbed the Crown service station in the 8600 block of Loch Raven Boulevard of cash and cigarettes about 9 p.m. Wednesday.

BURGLARY: Parkville District -- Cash and jewelry, all valued at more than $1,000, were stolen from a house in the 3500 block of Quatman Ave. Wednesday.
