Chase by police ends in drug charges

County police arrested a 22-year-old Glen Burnie man on drug charges after chasing him into a yard off Furnace Branch Road Sunday evening.

Officers said they found the man about 8 p.m. walking in the middle of Furnace Branch Road, near South Meadow Drive, holding up traffic. When two officers chased him, he reached into his pocket, pulled out a plastic bag and tossed it.

The officers caught up to the man near Country Club Road. They said the bag he discarded contained suspected drugs and a pack of rolling papers.

Police charged Kevin Carter Alston of the 7300 block of Furnace Branch Road with possession of PCP and resisting arrest.
