Pizza deliveryman robbed in Laurel

Anne Arundel County police are continuing to search for an unidentified person who robbed a pizza deliveryman of between $120 and $130 Friday night.

Police said the deliveryman had just dropped off a pizza about 8:30 p.m. to a home on Red Clay Road near Barbersville Road in Laurel, when a man approached him from behind and demanded money.

Chester man killed in car-motorcycle crash

A 35-year-old Chester man was killed late Friday when his motorcycle collided with the rear of a car at Central Avenue and Mayo Road in Edgewater.

James Michael Norris Sr., riding a 1975 Harley Davidson motorcycle, was traveling westbound on Central Avenue about 11:30 p.m. when a vehicle operated by a 16-year-old Churchton youth coming from the opposite direction tried to turn left onto Mayo Road. The motorcycle struck the right rear of the left-turning vehicle. Police did not release the name of the 16-year-old.

Library branches to be closed Wednesday

All branches of the Anne Arundel County Library will be closed on Wednesday for an all-staff meeting.

The Annapolis, Crofton, North County and Severna Park branches will reopen at 9 a.m. Thursday; the remaining branches will reopen at 1 p.m. Thursday.

Area parks sponsor photography contest

B&A Trail, Downs Park and Quiet Waters Park are sponsoring a photography contest. Entries will be accepted May 15 through July 15 at the participating parks.

Photographs must depict one of these Anne Arundel County park facilities: B&A Trail, Arundel Olympic Swim Center, Downs Park, Eisenhower Golf Course, Joe Cannon Stadium, Jug Bay Wetland Sanctuary, Lake Waterford Park, Quiet Waters Park or Londontown Publik House and Gardens.
