CCC is host of conference

More than 100 members of the Maryland Association of Higher Education will attend a spring conference at Carroll Community College today.

The association includes faculty and staff from all the two- and four-year colleges and universities in the state, both public and private.

Members hold a fall meeting in Baltimore every year and move the spring conference around to different schools.

Carroll Community College Executive Dean Joseph F. Shields and another Carroll staff member will be honored at the conference today.

Dr. Shields will receive a certificate for being nominated as an outstanding administrator.

Joel Hoskowitz of Hampstead, a counselor at Carroll Community College, will get an award for being an outstanding adviser and mentor.

Commissioner Gouge has 2 public meetings

County Commissioner Julia Gouge will have two public meetings in May.

The first session will be from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the New Windsor Service Center in Ziegler Hall on the 2nd Floor.

The second session will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in Room 300A of the County Office Building, 225 N. Center St., Westminster.

Any resident is welcome to attend these informal sessions designed to address citizen concerns and issues.
