Junior Rachel Synowski pitched a perfect game yesterday, leading No. 2 Archbishop Spalding (11-2, 7-1) to a 3-0 victory over Catholic in the opening game of a Catholic League doubleheader.
Synowski, who faced the minimum 15 batters and struck out eight, also won the second game, giving up three hits and striking out 11 in a 12-2 victory.
Sophomore Chamanika Hill (1-7) pitched a no hitter to lead Annapolis (1-3, 1-2) over visiting Southern, 19-0. Hill walked two and struck out four in dropping Southern to 1-6 and 1-3.
She helped her cause offensively by going 3-for-5, including an RBI double in the first inning and a three-run triple in the sixth.
