Honors Recital planned Sunday at Smith Theatre

Howard Community College will present the second annual Howard County Honors Recital at 7 p.m. Sunday in the HCC Smith Theatre.

The musicians were selected by juried audition and represent the best of the soloists and chamber ensembles from the county middle and high school programs.

The performers include Christopher Hemmerlein, violin; Jeff Hung, piano; Andrew Farrell, clarinet; Maya Bendor, violin; Chris Winters, saxophone; Joanna Lin, piano; Chris Dunn, guitar; Sarah Walton, flute; Anne Miller, violin; Elizabeth Hung, piano; and Jonathan Voelkel, violin.

The following will give a quartet performance: Jeff Lindon, oboe; Sheng Tsung Wang, violin; Elizabeth Hung, viola; and Erica Wise, cello.

The saxophone quartet will include Ali Dowdal, Chris Winters, Brian Schmidt and Chris Seymour.

Laura Hung, Jeff Hung and Elizabeth Hung will give a trio piano performance.

Admission is free. A reception will follow the performance.

* Harper's Choice: 5600 block of Harper's Farm Road: Someone stole registration plates from a 1992 Chevrolet Cavalier between 8 p.m. Saturday and 8:30 a.m. Monday.

* Hickory Ridge: 6500 block of Freetown Road: Someone broke into a 1985 Jeep between 11:15 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. Monday, and stole a $400 CD player and $450 worth of CDs.

6600 block of Cedar Lane: Someone stole $104 worth of trampoline springs and a $149 jump pad for a trampoline from a back yard between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

10500 block of East Wind Way: Someone shattered a windshield on a 1989 Mercury Sable between 5:30 p.m. Monday and 10:15 a.m. Tuesday. Someone may have used a BB gun to cause the damage.
